Judge Dion G. Morrow is a graduate of Loyola University Law School in Los Angeles. He was in general practice in South Central Los Angeles for 15 years, and was serving as Senior Special Counsel and Assistant City Attorney in Los Angeles, when he was appointed to the Municipal Court in Compton. In 1978, he was elevated to the Los Angeles Superior Court, where he sat until his retirement on October 31, 1995. In October 1987, he became one of the first "fast track" Judges. Judge Morrow has been a member and president of the John M. Langston Bar Association, which named him Trial Judge of the Year in 1992. He was also a member of the Committees to write BAJI and CALJIC. Judge Morrow has lectured frequently in Rutter Group programs and for CJA, CJER, the Judge's College, and the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada. He has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at California State University, Los Angeles. Since his retirement, he serves as a private judge. He is Chair of the Board of Directors of Mercantile National Bank in the Century City are of Los Angeles and was a member of the Judicial Review Commission on Foreign Asset Control of the 106th Congress of the United States.
