    ADR Experience
    Numerous arbitrations, mediations, trials as a temporary judge, and court references in a variety of fields, including contracts, business, commercial, employment, probate & trusts, real property, legal and medical malpractice, personal injury, marriage dissolution, and accountings. Served as the mediator in the employment dispute between Los Angeles Police Department Chief Willie Williams and the City of Los Angeles which was settled in 1997. Member, AAA Panel of Commercial Arbitrators, AAA Large Complex Case Program, and AAA Employment Panel.

    Judicial Experience
    During over 20 years as a judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court handled all types of cases, including civil, family law, adoptions, probate, law & motion, discovery, writs & receivers, juvenile, criminal and mental health. Service included two years and nine months as Presiding Judge of the Superior Court, one year and three months as Assistant Presiding Judge (Department One), one year as Supervising Judge of the Probate Department (Department 11) and three years as Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Court. Supervised the planning, development and initial implementation of the Trial Court Delay Reduction Program (Fast Track) in Central Civil in 1987 & 1988. Assigned by the Chief Justice to serve on the California Court of Appeal in 1982.

    Legal Experience
    General civil practice from 1960 to appointment to Superior Court in 1972, with emphasis on litigation and probate. Admitted to practice in California state and federal courts and the United States Supreme Court (1971). Rated "av" by Martindale Hubbell when appointed to Court.

    Compensation
    $450.00 per hour. Hourly rate applied to all time spent on matter. No charge for travel time unless stated. Unless expressively waived, a retainer fee, based upon the amount of time reserved or estimated, is payable in advance at the time the engagement is booked and confirmed. Fees for services exceeding the amount of the retainer and for costs and expenses will be billed periodically and are payable upon billing. Cancellation or continuance required 45 days in advance of hearing. Refund or credit of the retainer within 45 days depends on ability to reschedule the reserved time. Any fee retained because of inability to reschedule is deemed an earned fee.
